John Lewis is set to create 200 new jobs at a new distribution centre opening in Leicestershire.

The warehouse will open in Bardon and is being managed on behalf of the department store giant by logistics firm Clipper, reports City AM.

The facility will provide additional e-commerce and store replenishment services to the UK department store chain.

The operation will initially run for a minimum of three years and offers 317,000 square feet of warehousing space.

Clipper says 200 new jobs will be created at the new facility to support the contract.

Following today’s announcement, the Bardon operation is anticipated to go live later this month.
