‘WE WANT IT OUTLAWED’: Angry walkers sign petition calling for ban on nudists in Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest

A petition has now been set up after a female cyclist claimed she was flashed at by a naked man ‘pleasuring himself’ in the bushes while cycling in the Budby Moor area.

Angry walkers in Nottinghamshire are calling for a ban on nudists using Robin Hood’s famous Sherwood Forest home.

A petition has now been set up after a female cyclist claimed she was flashed at by a naked man ‘pleasuring himself’ in the bushes while cycling in the Budby Moor area.

The woman’s husband said: “Nudists have started walking around here, sometimes in groups of up to 12 men.

“My wife used to regularly jog around the forest, but stopped when she came across this group of men.”

Nudists are allowed to use the Budby South Forest area, but the petition claims they often walk into the busier areas of the forest, upsetting tourists.

The petition is calling on RSPB, who manage the forest, to put a stop to the nudity.

An RSPB spokesman asked for ‘considerate behaviour from everyone’.

They told MailOnline: ‘Naturists have enjoyed walking in quieter areas of Budby Forest South, just north of our busier Sherwood site, for decades, long before we began managing the reserve and their presence is tolerated – and indeed legal – provided they adhere to certain behaviours.

‘The RSPB does not tolerate sexual, abusive or intimidating behaviour of any kind under any circumstances and anyone encountering this behaviour should contact the police as soon as possible.’
